About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and ship web applications and APIs underpinning the Board Intelligence platform
  • Lead platform features such as authentication and identity for enterprise clients
  • Work directly with clients' IT and technology teams to understand requirements and provide appropriate challenge
  • Build to security and data protection standards expected by regulated financial services clients
  • Work across Ruby, TypeScript (React), Python and Java
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and build expertise in a critical platform area
  • Use AI tools such as Claude Code while maintaining high engineering standards
  • Deliver SCIM API and passkey (FIDO2) support
  • Contribute code from the first weeks, help launch SCIM and passkey support, and become a trusted technical expert shaping platform evolution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Upper mid-level to senior professional software engineering experience
  • Professional experience with Ruby and at least one other programming language
  • Strong engineering foundations, including system design, testing and code quality
  • Experience building and maintaining web applications and APIs in production
  • Confidence working with clients' technical teams
  • Experience using AI coding tools in day-to-day work while maintaining quality
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Nice to have: experience in a regulated enterprise environment, such as financial services
  • Nice to have: experience with authentication systems such as SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect, SCIM or passkeys
  • Nice to have: experience with TypeScript and React, Python or Java
  • Nice to have: strong interest in security and data protection
