About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own supplier strategy across dairy and nutritional ingredients, other ingredients and premixes, and packaging
Lead negotiation of multi-year supply agreements and master supply agreements
Qualify and onboard new suppliers while weighing lead time, cost, and regulatory risk
Build a formal supplier qualification process and scorecards
Establish cost accounting and PPV reporting for raw material and packaging spend
Own procurement's use of ERP for planning, MRP, PO issuance, and item costing
Partner with Finance on PO approval thresholds, cash timing, and cost reporting
Manage and develop the purchasing team
Shift the team from reactive tactical buying toward proactive category strategy and supplier relationship management
Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Science, Supply Planning, Plant Operations, Finance, and comanufacturing sites
Support new product launches end to end from a procurement standpoint

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, including experience negotiating multi-year supply agreements, ideally in food, CPG, or another regulated manufacturing environment
Experience standing up or significantly improving cost accounting or PPV processes
Comfort working directly in an ERP system and building reporting where none exists today
Experience managing suppliers through new product launches, including regulatory-driven timelines
People leadership experience, with comfort both setting strategy and staying close enough to the details to unblock the team
Dairy or nutritional ingredient sourcing experience preferred
Experience in infant formula, baby food, or another FDA-regulated food category preferred
Experience scaling a procurement function inside a high-growth company preferred
