About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-performing Scientific Services teams and contribute to Scientific Services leadership
- Manage complex projects across therapeutic areas
- Serve as Scientific Lead on designated accounts and oversee medical communication materials, including slide decks, digital materials, publications, abstracts and posters, and meeting summaries
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and medical experts
- Provide scientific, editorial and strategic counsel to clients
- Lead scientific discussions, client meetings, client workshops and thought-leadership discussions with HCPs
- Delegate briefs and align deliverables with client strategic goals
- Maintain high editorial standards through review of scientific content
- Partner with the Client Services Lead on strategic planning, timelines, account management and resource planning
- Develop scientific expertise and communicate product updates, medical/regulatory milestones, competitor landscape and healthcare industry developments
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, proposal documents and pitch strategies
- Lead financial management, forecasting, budgets, resourcing, billability and timesheet compliance
- Recruit, train, mentor, coach and line-manage scientific services team members
- Manage team performance and career development
- Maintain senior relationships with the Business Unit Founder and communicate key account activity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced, doctoral level degree (PhD, MD, PharmD etc.)
- Several years' experience within the medical communications industry
- Experience of leading high-performing teams and proven leadership and influencing skills
- Exceptional scientific writing skills with extensive experience writing across different therapeutic areas and for different target audiences
- In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance
