About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide timely advice and consultation on manager, associate, and labor issues in non-union and unionized settings
- Interpret policies and contracts and provide performance management guidance
- Assist with associate disciplinary actions and investigations
- Resolve employment inquiries, questions, and cases consistently, accurately, and timely
- Diagnose and resolve issues through questioning and risk assessment
- Coach managers on policy interpretation, collective bargaining agreement administration, associate behavior, and performance management
- Research confidential company records, online knowledge articles, and Ministry policies and procedures
- Guide managers on consistent policy enforcement and conflict resolution
- Investigate low/medium-risk issues by planning investigations, gathering facts, interviewing witnesses, reviewing similar cases, and determining appropriate action
- Partner with the Advice & Counsel Center of Excellence and cross-functional partners
- Collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality
- Use computer systems to document facts, research prior issues and resolutions, and pull risk-assessment and trend data
- Review employee concerns pertaining to managers
- Partner with the Leave of Absence team to support accommodations and leave compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4 year/Bachelor’s Degree required
- Human Resources or equivalent accepted; Business; Industrial Psychology
- PHR certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to probe based upon responses provided
- Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely
- Ability to build rapport and communicate challenging information effectively
- Skilled at interviewing employees, witnesses, and supervisors; preparing detailed documentation; and maintaining files
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information
- Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Preferred: 2 years of HR experience involving investigation, research, and resolution of manager and associate issues
