About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for revenue cycle functions across Medical Group, Urgent Care, and Occupational Health service lines
  • Drive system standardization across all markets, performance management, and stakeholder accountability
  • Partner with market leaders, practice administrators, clinicians, and frontline associates to optimize scheduling, registration, insurance verification, authorization, and patient financial engagement
  • Improve front-end revenue cycle performance through registration accuracy, reduced eligibility and demographic errors, and compliant patient data capture
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives involving online scheduling, digital registration, automated eligibility verification, patient portals, mobile check-in, and electronic payments
  • Increase patient financial responsibility collections through price transparency, point-of-service collection, payment plans, and patient education
  • Identify root causes of claim denials and registration-related rework and implement corrective action plans
  • Use performance metrics, dashboards, and data analytics to monitor revenue cycle indicators and drive accountability
  • Establish onboarding, orientation, training, and continuing education programs for scheduling, registration, and patient access staff
  • Evaluate and coach frontline associates and leaders and implement targeted development plans
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, technology adoption, and automation
  • Lead market-based revenue cycle subject matter experts supporting frontline associates and market leaders
  • Maintain working relationships with Epic, Ensemble, and other key partners
  • Report to the System Chief Operating Officer, Medical Group, with a dotted line to the System Chief Revenue Officer
  • Manage 10 direct reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (required)
  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience, including ambulatory/professional billing operations
  • At least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Strong computer technology skills, including Microsoft suite of tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior grammar and proofreading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to interpret and manage detailed analytical data
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Performance improvement, Lean, and process redesign knowledge
  • Change management and physician/practice partnership skills
  • Payer and regulatory knowledge
  • Contract/vendor management skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Executive communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Multi-site or multi-market ambulatory revenue cycle leadership experience preferred
  • Epic and vendor-partner oversight experience preferred
  • Physician enterprise or medical group experience preferred
  • Epic familiarity preferred
