About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement the AI strategy and blueprint to make Boomi an AI-first enterprise
Lead AI adoption across internal business operations
Run quarterly planning with the VP of AI and business teams
Translate the AI and agent roadmap into agent, data, and platform investments
Drive AI solutions for front- and back-office processes, decision-making, and customer experiences
Set architecture and roadmap for autonomous and multi-agent systems
Define agent guardrails, access controls, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, logging, and escalation paths
Establish evaluation and observability standards for agents
Drive interoperability standards and own the agent operating model
Own model strategy across frontier and open-weight models
Govern an enterprise AI gateway for model access, routing, fallback, rate limiting, cost tracking, and policy enforcement
Decide when to self-host open-weight models versus using hosted APIs
Define architecture for the knowledge graph, semantic layer, vector retrieval, and trust layer
Own data trust-layer policies including classification, masking, lineage, and enforcement
Lead batch and real-time pipelines into AI-ready data
Set data modeling standards and build versioned feature and context stores
Establish retrieval, freshness, and trust-layer SLOs with data quality and drift monitoring
Balance storage, query, and compute performance and cost
Mentor and grow AI and data engineering professionals as a player-coach
Lead async, multi-geo collaboration across the US and India
Serve as Customer Zero for Boomi’s low-code generative AI orchestration platform
Work with Product & Engineering and external communities to test ideas and advance AI strategy
Report directly to the Vice President, Enterprise AI

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years across data engineering, analytics, and AI systems
3+ years managing senior individual-contributor engineers
Track record leading enterprise-scale AI initiatives with measurable outcomes
Hands-on production experience with Anthropic Claude, including Claude API, Claude Agent SDK, tool use, and prompt caching, plus at least one other frontier model family
Experience deploying, fine-tuning, or serving open-weight models in production
Experience comparing open-weight and hosted models on quality and total cost
Experience designing or operating an AI gateway or LLM proxy layer for multi-model routing, observability, and governance
Personally architected at least one production knowledge graph, semantic layer, or enterprise-scale RAG retrieval system
Experience setting architecture for agentic or multi-agent AI systems, including guardrails, evaluation, and observability
Built a data trust or governance layer including classification, masking, lineage, and policy enforcement
Hands-on AWS experience with IAM, S3, Glue/EMR, Lambda, Bedrock or equivalent, OpenSearch, and KMS
Experience leading large transformations across strategic planning, program execution, technical delivery, communications, and change management
Proven record building and mentoring AI and software engineering teams, including a distributed US-India team
Strong executive communication skills
BS or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or another technical field
Experience with the listed AI, data, cloud, infrastructure, security, monitoring, and programming technologies
