About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the overall operation of assigned Pump & Pantry locations
  • Oversee daily store operations in the absence of the General Manager or 1st Assistant Manager
  • Ensure company standards are consistently met through direct involvement and supervision of team members
  • Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Open and close shifts and complete required documentation
  • Ensure customer needs are met and customer service policies are followed
  • Supervise cash handling procedures, including control and bank deposits
  • Ensure proper food preparation, handling, storage, and safety procedures
  • Resolve customer, personnel, and mechanical issues
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, safety, and appearance
  • Assist with inventory control, ordering, and merchandise pricing
  • Support company training programs and train store personnel
  • Ensure food products are stored, labeled, code dated, and maintained at appropriate temperatures
  • Ensure shifts are adequately covered and personnel maintain proper uniforms and appearance
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Report maintenance, customer, and personnel problems to upper management
  • Maintain records related to merchandise, personnel, and fuel
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment
  • Attend required management and training sessions
  • Directly supervise 4 to 16 employees in each assigned Pump & Pantry

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a Food Handler’s permit or Serve Safe Certification where required by law or policy
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance of all equipment in the assigned stores
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work a minimum of three 2nd shifts per week opposite the manager
  • Reliable transportation and phone
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to communicate in English, if applicable
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Must frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
  • Must occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Physical attendance at the primary work location is required
