About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver direct clinical and support services to patients and families under RN direction
  • Participate in remote telemonitoring and continuously observe assigned patients using video monitoring equipment
  • Collaborate with RNs, nurse managers, MDs, PCTs, and the safety team to assess remote monitoring appropriateness
  • Communicate patient conditions, monitoring alarms, delegated task completion, and patient data findings to the RN and safety team
  • Collect and document vital signs, intake/output, blood sugar, weights, restraint monitoring, and other patient data
  • Respond to call lights and provide basic hygiene, skin care, feeding, oral suctioning, mobility, and comfort assistance
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, treatments, procedures, preoperative care, specimen collection, EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic patient testing
  • Identify emergencies and initiate appropriate responses within role scope
  • Set up, use, clean, decontaminate, maintain, and log remote video monitoring and other patient-care equipment
  • Support unit operations through telephone coverage, belongings tracking, inventory management, room organization, supply restocking, and environmental cleaning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), including CPR certification, or obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • One year of previous experience as a CNA/PCT in an acute hospital setting
  • Prior video monitoring experience preferred
  • Previous medical/surgical experience preferred
  • Fluency in another language a plus
