About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the month- and year-end close process by preparing expense accruals and preparing and reviewing journal entries
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations for accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits
  • Provide audit query documentation upon request
  • Work with the Finance team on general ledger coding of standard and non-standard transactions
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis against budget and identify variance causes and trends
  • Drive process improvement and automation for accounting functions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and support other business initiatives
  • Report to the Accounting Manager and work with Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-7 years accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines and schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in General Ledger systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to train others
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply accounting skills in a non-profit healthcare environment
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Dedicated team player willing and able to assist in other department areas as needed
