About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate, implement, and oversee the success of the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program
- Collect and analyze achievement data
- Maintain strong connections between the school day and after-school program
- Coordinate and develop learning and enrichment partnerships with community and youth service agencies
- Recruit Program Leaders and participate in student selection for the after-school program
- Lead, inspire, train, and assess part-time staff at ASES sites
- Align educational and enrichment programs with ASES grant funding guidelines and BGCGSD requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, program standards, organizational policies, and procedures
- Develop and follow an annual Program Plan with growth goals and metrics
- Oversee daily program activities and provide direction and constructive feedback to Group Leaders
- Evaluate programs based on member needs and maintain accurate Vision membership data
- Prepare monthly and weekly reports covering activities, attendance, participation, and Group Leader performance
- Administer grant requirements and member participation; control site expenditures within budget
- Maintain financial documentation and records
- Develop public relations, outreach, promotion, volunteer recruitment, and school leadership relationships
- Solicit and document donations and support fundraising plans and events
- Manage site cleanliness, repairs, equipment, supplies, and inventory
- Supervise club staff, maintain volunteer records, conduct performance evaluations, and address personnel concerns
- Enforce safety protocols, participate in safety drills, and support risk assessment and emergency preparedness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four year degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience working in a Boys & Girls Club, or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience (required)
- Demonstrated leadership coordinating and evaluating staff efforts toward program goals
- Management skills for long-range and operational planning, resource coordination, budget preparation, control, and management
- Fund-raising event skills
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple time constraints, changing deadlines, shifting priorities, and frequent interruptions
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Supervisory skills to lead, motivate, and manage staff; delegate tasks; monitor work; set performance standards; conduct evaluations; and mediate conflicts
- Solid analytical skills
- Experience using data systems and cash handling (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience scheduling and maintaining multiple calendars in Microsoft Outlook
- Verified knowledge of database system management and reporting
- Demonstrated facilities management, fundraising event planning, and volunteer management skills
- Maintain partner certifications and trainings, including CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers
- Presentation and training experience; knowledge of coaching strategies and program evaluation techniques
- Previous nonprofit or grant-making foundation experience is a plus (preferred)
- Valid California Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or CDL Class B license, Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, Air Brake Certification, and DOT Medical Examiners Certificate within 9 months (acquired)
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check
- Compliance with the organization's drug-free workplace policy
- Valid driver's license and verification of insurance
- Certified school bus driver or ability to attain certification within 9 months
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Clear TB test as required by the school district
- Occasional weekend and evening availability for fundraising events, committee meetings, and activities
