About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage operational and tactical aspects of domain-specific cross-functional technical projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, project charters, schedules, and lessons learned.
- Own backlog refinement, keep Jira groomed, define stories, and prepare sprints.
- Partner with Digital Product Management on prioritization and roadmap alignment.
- Track delivery progress, flag risks or delays, and maintain visibility into team capacity.
- Run sprint planning, delivery check-ins, sprint reviews, and demos.
- Coordinate release planning and facilitate go/no-go decisions across technical teams.
- Identify and track requirements, objectives, scope, timing, resources, and dependencies across Systems, Product, and Volunteer teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional planning and ensure smooth handoffs between teams.
- Resolve cross-team blockers and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare status reports and maintain risk and issue logs.
- Communicate sprint progress, capacity, and delivery forecasts to stakeholders.
- Track delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and sprint burndown.
- Identify process bottlenecks and improve documentation, workflows, Jira, and Confluence hygiene.
- Collaborate with Technical Project Managers to standardize delivery practices.
- Report directly to the Senior Director, Systems Strategy and Operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 4 years of demonstrated excellence in cross-functional project or program management within a technical function.
- Experience with Jira project management tool.
- Experience with agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Braven doesn’t offer employment visa sponsorship.
- Ability to work in-person in Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL), New York (NY), or Newark (NJ) 3 days per week.
- Certified Scrum Master or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Experience working directly with technical teams, including engineering, DevOps, Salesforce development, or platform infrastructure preferred.
- Familiarity with software development, Salesforce development lifecycle, and emerging technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects from start to finish preferred.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and make timely decisions preferred.
- Experience coordinating work across multiple teams simultaneously preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, relationship-building, and influencing skills preferred.
- Ability to identify risks early and support timely resolution preferred.
- Experience in education, government, or nonprofit sector preferred.
- Comfortable receiving and implementing constructive feedback and committing to continuous learning preferred.
