About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create strategic plans, multi-year roadmaps, project plans, stakeholder communication maps, and risk mitigation strategies for Transformation initiatives
- Synthesize insights and recommendations for senior leaders
- Manage execution across teams and adapt strategies and frameworks as needed
- Build Braven’s expanded higher-education partnership pilot end-to-end
- Prepare systems, staffing logic, and playbooks for future partner sites
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment without direct authority
- Build internal buy-in and help teams navigate ambiguity
- Own project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and follow-up
- Create operating systems, trackers, templates, and check-in rhythms
- Flag risks and blockers early and propose solutions
- Develop executive-level memos, briefings, and presentation materials
- Connect Transformation initiatives with Braven’s data and technology infrastructure
- Advise stakeholders on data and technology choices affecting scalability
- Translate technical trade-offs for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Develop, launch, and maintain pilot tools such as surveys, data trackers, and digital platforms
- Build and maintain shared student, alumni, and outcomes data views
- Determine when to use existing tools, prototype new solutions, or hand work off to another team
- Document integration pathways between Braven systems and partner-institution tools such as Handshake and Simplicity
- Partner with Systems and Product teams on partnership-specific builds and broader technology roadmaps
- Track peer institutions’ data and technology infrastructure and inform build-versus-buy decisions
- Identify data and technology risks or gaps before they block partner-site launches or scaling
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of strategic operations experience managing complex projects and leading others to outcomes
- Ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams, ideally in a matrixed, cross-functional environment or scaling consulting or mission-driven organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize information, identify the most important thread, and move forward without every detail resolved
- Experience in education, nonprofit, or consulting sectors
- Comfort and fluency with AI tools such as Claude
- Ability to navigate technology systems such as Asana/Trello, Salesforce, and Zoom
- Track record of operating in ambiguous environments and creating structure where little exists
- Demonstrated commitment to building strong and welcoming cultures that help develop others
- Exemplification of Braven’s core values
- Experience informing belief in Braven’s mission and preparing the candidate to work with or for Braven’s student Fellow population
- Ability to work in person in Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, or New York City
- Ability to travel 20–30% of the time, including periodic travel to partner campuses
- Availability for consistent evening and weekend work, especially during peak pilot periods
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Braven does not offer employment visa sponsorship
