About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, CMDB, or custom applications
- Translate functional and technical requirements into ServiceNow configurations and custom development
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions
- Configure workflows, forms, fields, notifications, reports, and other ServiceNow functionality
- Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and other methods
- Collaborate with senior developers, architects, business analysts, project managers, and client stakeholders
- Participate in unit testing, system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve technical issues and recommend improvements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Follow development standards, security requirements, and ServiceNow best practices
- Support platform enhancements, upgrades, deployments, and ongoing maintenance
- Stay current with ServiceNow capabilities and contribute ideas for automation and platform improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and configuration, including scripting and application customization
- Working knowledge of one or more ServiceNow modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, CMDB, or SecOps
- Proficiency with ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions
- Experience configuring workflows, forms, fields, notifications, reports, and other ServiceNow platform functionality
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into practical ServiceNow solutions
- Experience developing or supporting integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, or other integration frameworks
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working as part of a collaborative development team
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze problems, and develop maintainable solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work within established development standards, security requirements, and federal client environments
- Familiarity with federal compliance and security requirements, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53, is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer preferred
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred
- ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of an ITSM platform
- 2+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including scripting, configuration, customization, testing, and deployment
- Experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, including creating and/or customizing applications and platform functionality
- 3+ years of experience working with one or more programming or scripting languages, preferably JavaScript
- Experience developing or supporting ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs or similar technologies
- Experience creating technical documentation and maintaining development and configuration documentation
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred
- Federal government or government contracting experience is preferred
