About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure goods ordered from suppliers are delivered to distribution centers in a timely and accurate manner to support sales and order fulfillment goals
  • Interact with Sales, Warehouse Operations, and Suppliers
  • Analyze forecast data and work with Sales to develop inventory plans
  • Execute purchase orders and follow the procure-to-pay process cycle
  • Prepare purchase orders in accordance with BBG policies and audit requirements
  • Resolve issues or errors affecting receiving or supplier payment
  • File and follow up on claims with suppliers and/or carriers
  • Manage transportation and delivery for goods not delivered by suppliers
  • Review and analyze monthly inventory changes by supplier
  • Report inventory conditions including aging, unsaleable inventory, and cycle count adjustments
  • Maintain purchasing data and reports in the ERP system and integrated support systems
  • Perform item maintenance to support reliable MRP reporting
  • May coordinate the work of junior team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing or related field
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and reporting skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
  • APICS Professional Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of the Beverage Alcohol industry preferred
  • Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
