About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coach a team of sales representatives
  • Conduct one-on-one sales meetings, communicate objectives, review performance, and guide representatives on closing gaps
  • Develop and review performance enhancement plans, maintain training files, conduct evaluations, monitor 90-day evaluations, perform coaching calls, complete MBOs, and follow up on progress
  • Address skill deficiencies through customized coaching plans and track improvement
  • Pre-plan each sales period with representatives, strategize on goals, and help define target accounts
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting associates with Human Resources and manage onboarding
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts, identify opportunities, perform customer business reviews, develop opening orders, sell in store resets, manage open territories, and resolve complaints
  • Manage supplier surveys, including route planning, account pre-surveys, survey execution, recaps, and representative scheduling
  • Coordinate supplier ride-withs with Business Managers
  • Resolve customer issues through administrative processes and company policies, escalating when appropriate
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in sales
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and reporting skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit
  • Understanding of wine and spirits
  • Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
