About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coach a team of sales representatives
  • Conduct one-on-one sales meetings, communicate objectives and programs, identify opportunities, review performance against goals, and guide representatives on closing gaps
  • Develop and review performance enhancement plans, maintain training files, conduct evaluations, monitor 90-day evaluations for new hires, perform coaching calls, complete MBOs, and follow up on progress
  • Address skill deficiencies through customized coaching plans, progress tracking, and improvement records
  • Pre-plan each sales period with representatives, strategize on goals and objectives, and help define target accounts
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting associates with Human Resources, including sourcing candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and managing onboarding
  • Maintain key-account relationships, identify account opportunities, perform customer business reviews, develop opening orders, sell in resets of stores, manage open territories, and resolve customer complaints
  • Manage supplier surveys by planning routes, pre-surveying accounts, conducting surveys, recapping results, and scheduling representatives
  • Coordinate supplier ride-withs with Business Managers
  • Resolve customer issues through administrative processes and company policies, escalating as appropriate
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in sales
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit (preferred)
  • Understanding of Wine and Spirits (preferred)
