About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Rotate through different territories and fill open territories as needed to maximize sales of supplier brands to the trade
- Assist the Merchandising Department during particularly heavy merchandising periods
- Call on accounts and cover daily routes using an established and efficient routing pattern
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers
- Sell display ideas, new products, cold box, shelf, back bar placements and resets, drink and wine lists, and promotions
- Maintain product levels by taking inventory and restocking shelves where legal
- Ensure maximum brand visibility using current point-of-sale materials
- Collect and deliver account payments where legally permissible
- Conduct educational staff training seminars on brands
- Deliver products in extenuating circumstances and handle customer issues and complaints
- Preplan sales and merchandising objectives using pricing, product programming, and account purchase information
- Ensure national account compliance by completing necessary surveys
- Achieve supplier-brand distribution, volume, and activity goals
- Manage account receivables by processing credits and returns and communicating about aged receivables
- Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales
- Basic PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
- Results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
- Customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Analytic and Reporting skills
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit
- Understanding of wine and spirits
- Ability to carry and lift 45-65 pounds
