About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage overall sales efforts in the assigned territory to maximize sales and profit
  • Meet sales objectives, retain customers, and improve customer satisfaction through digital channels
  • Identify cross-selling and range-selling opportunities and engage relevant stakeholders
  • Set customer growth strategies and targets and align sales plans with the Sales Manager
  • Conduct customer visits, prepare meetings, coordinate, negotiate, and close proposals
  • Manage spot business and rush offers
  • Liaise with Sales Management and Product Management to create customer solutions and maximize value
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for customers in the assigned territory
  • Conduct market studies for potential new product opportunities
  • Leverage Brenntag Connect to generate and maximize sales
  • Identify and prioritize prospective customers and nurture leads through the pipeline
  • Launch sales projects with Product Management and other departments
  • Set and maximize prices within Product Management guidelines
  • Administer business data and documentation in the local CRM system
  • Maintain customer opportunity pipelines and potentials in the CRM system
  • Complete sales and revenue reporting
  • Drive commercial and functional excellence based on Commercial Excellence guidance
  • Provide product-demand forecasts to Product Management
  • Maintain product, portfolio, market, feedstock, and upstream-development knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preferably post-secondary education with a focus in Business, Science or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of previous experience in a sales role
  • Experience in the chemical distribution business, preferably in a sales capacity
  • Ability to manage sales efforts in an assigned territory to maximize sales and profit
  • Consultative sales approach using face-to-face and/or telephone contact
  • Ability to identify and act upon selling opportunities
  • Ability to use CRM systems for customer data, opportunity pipelines, projects, and reporting
  • Ability to set prices using value-based pricing and customer segmentation guidelines
  • Ability to provide product-demand forecasts
  • Ability to maintain current product and market knowledge
  • Ability to work in the United States; Brenntag uses E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility
