About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead BridgeTower Media’s IT function and set its direction through an outsourced delivery model
Own the IT strategy, multi-year technology roadmap, sourcing model, and operating model
Set priorities, present investment cases, tradeoffs, and risks to executive leadership
Serve as the senior internal point of accountability for IT
Run weekly IT status updates, monthly IT reviews, and KPI scorecards
Build and manage the annual IT budget, track spend, renewals, variances, and savings
Own relationships with the managed service provider and other technology vendors
Define and negotiate SLAs and KPIs; review performance and require corrective action
Review invoices, manage contracts, RFPs, vendor evaluations, renewals, and transitions
Maintain vendor responsibility maps and enforce ITIL-aligned processes
Approve and oversee cybersecurity plans, security reporting, incident response, disaster recovery, risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance evidence
Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, identity, access reviews, network infrastructure, office connectivity, printers, hardware, assets, and help desk performance
Manage software and license inventories, utilization reviews, procurement, and security reviews
Hold website hosting and web development partners accountable for hosting, security, uptime, domains, DNS, SSL certificates, and email authentication
Coordinate IT due diligence and technology integration for acquisitions, divestitures, and investor transactions
Track IT projects, risks, decisions, budgets, milestones, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational documentation
Provide technical input on new SaaS and AI tools and other company initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least 8 years of progressive IT experience
At least 4 years in an IT management role with responsibility for budget and vendor strategy
At least 3 years as the accountable owner of one or more managed service provider relationships
Experience defining SLAs, managing performance, leading contract negotiations or renewals, reconciling invoices, and improving outsourced service delivery
Ability to govern outsourced IT through plans, SLAs, KPIs, and scorecards
Broad technical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management, networking, zero-trust access, Azure or other cloud platforms, security operations, backup and disaster recovery, and SaaS administration
Working knowledge of cybersecurity programs aligned with recognized frameworks such as NIST CSF or CIS Controls
Working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes
Experience supporting a distributed or remote workforce of 200 or more users in a multi-site or multi-brand organization
Experience with IT due diligence and/or post-acquisition technology integration
Experience leading RFPs, vendor selections, and contract negotiations
Experience managing office network infrastructure and connectivity across multiple locations
Strong written and verbal communication and executive presence
Experience building and managing an IT budget and making investment cases
Ability to work as the company’s sole internal IT owner
Reliable home internet connection with minimum 50 Mbps up/10 Mbps down
Professional certifications such as ITIL 4 Foundation, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft 365/Azure certifications (preferred)
Experience in media, publishing, or a digital-first business (preferred)
Experience with CrowdStrike Falcon, Cloudflare Zero Trust, Mimecast, AvePoint, Keeper, KnowBe4, or comparable tools (preferred)
Experience with managed WordPress hosting, multi-registrar DNS consolidation, and DMARC enforcement at scale (preferred)
Experience running an MSP or IT services RFP and transition (preferred)
Experience with ClickUp (preferred)
Must maintain a quiet, distraction-free, safe workspace and reliable internet access
Must remain accessible and responsive during scheduled work hours
