About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Receive incoming calls and e-mails from internal customers, Brink’s U.S. branches, and Brink’s affiliates, and service queries in a timely manner
  • Filter incoming internal inquiries through proper internal channels to find timely solutions and answers
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of all LOB transportation shipments
  • Communicate with internal affiliates and regional operational departments for shipment updates, ETAs, and PODs
  • Research brokerage, import, and export delays and relay information to the customer care support team
  • Attain PODs, pickup confirmations, and ETAs from branches with internal teams and CIT
  • Develop communicative relationships with route supervisors and operations managers
  • Adhere to escalation procedures for securing information
  • Provide researched information to the Inside Sales quote and shipment specialist
  • Partner with operations staff to determine accurate operational service capabilities
  • Coordinate with JFK Sort, Import, Export, and Air Courier departments to ensure proper shipment routing and customer storage in secured vaults
  • Meet IATA and U.S. Customs requirements for document generation and cargo handling
  • Maintain and submit special logs, reports, and records
  • Handle service concerns diplomatically and channel complaints appropriately
  • Determine and secure paperwork required for international moves, including commercial invoices and special customs paperwork
  • Respond to inquiries regarding item status in transit
  • Ensure workload completion and high-quality customer service via timely responses to voicemails, emails, and phone calls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customer Service with a concentration in logistics & supply chain or related field, or internal BGS experience of a similar nature
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using MS Office and Windows applications
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and/or extended hours
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Experience in a fast paced high volume Commodities department for an air freight forwarder preferred
  • More than 3 years of experience servicing customers in the transportation/logistics industry as a coordinator, shipment router or other similarly situated air freight forwarding professional preferred
  • Good basic math skills
  • Working knowledge of BITS, ATLAS and GARCIA preferred
