About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform complex customer support activities involving installation, modification, repair, testing, upgrades, preventive diagnosis, and maintenance of Brooks equipment and systems
  • Isolate and resolve complex equipment malfunctions and implement corrective action
  • Work under minimal supervision while meeting company and customer quality standards
  • Act as Local, Shift, or Site Lead to coordinate work direction for other Service Engineers and install support as needed
  • Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction and participate in customer operational/status meetings
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment according to Brooks and customer protocols
  • Attain Equipment Service and Operation Certification on equipment and systems
  • Submit Service and Status Reports and other expected support reports
  • React to changing priorities, tool or line-down events, and escalations
  • Train Brooks and customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance
  • Mentor and train less experienced Service Engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement programs and projects
  • Initiate, evaluate, and document new processes or process improvements
  • Create and present reports, project plans, training plans, certification matrices, and other documentation
  • Work in a clean room wearing a full clean room suit when required
  • Support a specific site, region, or product depending on business needs
  • Follow customer-aligned schedules including compressed work weeks, night shifts, weekends, and on-call assignments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, technical Certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing electro-mechanical / electronics technical support / repair service
  • Experience with lasers and sensing devices for positioning circuitry on robotic units
  • Experience troubleshooting microelectronics schematics and digital circuits
  • Proficiency with PCs, Windows, and DOS based Operating Systems
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Reliable mode of transportation
  • Qualified to obtain a credit card for expenses
  • Able to obtain a valid passport for the term of employment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, scaffoldings, and use Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ability to work in awkward positions and in confined spaces
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Availability for specific emergency on-call work
