About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform complex customer support activities involving installation, modification, repair, testing, upgrades, preventive diagnosis, and maintenance of Brooks equipment and systems
- Isolate and resolve complex equipment malfunctions and implement corrective action
- Work under minimal supervision while meeting company and customer quality standards
- Act as Local, Shift, or Site Lead to coordinate work direction for other Service Engineers and installation support
- Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction and participate in customer operational/status meetings
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment according to Brooks and customer protocols
- Attain Equipment Service and Operation Certification on assigned equipment and systems
- Submit Service and Status Reports and other required reports
- React to changing priorities, including tool or line-down situations and escalations
- Train Brooks and customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance procedures
- Mentor and train less experienced Service Engineers
- Drive continuous improvement programs and projects for customers and Brooks
- Initiate, evaluate, and document new processes or improvements
- Create reports, project plans, training plans, certification matrices, and other documentation
- Present at customer sites or Brooks offices to customers and/or Brooks management
- Support assigned customer sites, regions, and/or products according to business needs
- Work schedules aligned with customer needs, including compressed work weeks, night shifts, weekends, and on-call assignments
- Work in clean room environments wearing a full clean room suit when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, technical Certificate or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience providing electro-mechanical / electronics technical support / repair service
- Experience with lasers and sensing devices for positioning circuitry on robotic units
- Experience troubleshooting microelectronics schematics and digital circuits
- Proficiency with PCs, Windows, and DOS based Operating Systems
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Qualified to obtain a credit card for expenses
- Able to obtain a valid passport for the term of employment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, scaffoldings, and use Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to work in awkward positions and in confined spaces
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Availability for specific emergency on-call work
- Must be flexible and available for on-call assignments
- Relevant Military technical experience / training is a plus
