Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, market, and implement primarily middle market insurance programs for clients
  • Conduct strategic planning meetings with clients and recommend risk transfer programs
  • Coordinate services between clients and insurance companies
  • Provide day-to-day consulting and client advice
  • Make independent decisions about marketing strategy, insurance program design, and client communication
  • Delegate administrative work to supporting team members
  • Develop knowledge of clients’ businesses, industries, risk profiles, assets, products, cash flow, and loss history
  • Identify client exposures to loss, risk retention tolerance, and service needs
  • Lead development of marketing plans, insurance specifications, timelines, and market selections
  • Negotiate with underwriters to develop the best insurance program
  • Create insurance proposals comparing competitive program options and recommend the best program
  • Develop alternative program design strategies linking risk identification, risk funding, and service techniques
  • Monitor the risk transfer process, including binder issuance, policy issuance reviews, and service delivery
  • Complete Renewal Information Requests accurately
  • Develop and maintain relationships with underwriters and service providers
  • Monitor market conditions and innovations
  • Develop and maintain client service plans, manage mid-term changes, and assist with Stewardship reviews
  • Respond promptly and accurately to client requests and ensure delegated work is completed timely
  • May oversee team/company work and provide performance feedback and professional development support
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Attend continuing education classes
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and assigned projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of experience in the industry
  • Licensed as a Producer of Property and Casualty in applicable state
  • Participates in continuing education to maintain the appropriate level of credentials
  • Elevated knowledge of assigned products, insurance coverages, services, policies, pricing, placement of coverage, regulations and benefits
  • Expertise in the insurance industry and ability to explain company capabilities relative to competitors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manner
  • Working knowledge of B&B systems
  • Understanding of client profitability, including income, expenses and time utilized
  • Good keyboard and PC skills using word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Familiarity with various software applications and ability to learn new software systems
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing team environment
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record report and minimum acceptable insurance coverages if driving is required
  • Insurance designation preferred
  • College degree preferred
