About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research and resolve bank reconciliation discrepancies
  • Contact carriers and/or agents for current payment status
  • Reissue or refund premiums as needed
  • Issue rush payments via check or credit card
  • Update systems and bank reconciliations with notes related to reissues or refunds
  • Call and resolve outstanding checks
  • Research and collect outstanding discrepancies
  • Respond to requests about check status
  • Issue stop payments as needed
  • Communicate with carriers, agents, clients, borrowers, departments, and leaders
  • Assist with special projects and act as a department backup

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must have excellent attendance and no prior disciplinary action(s)
  • Ability to work holidays and overtime as required
  • Must be proficient with MS Office
  • Must be proficient with MS Excel formulas and macros
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline
  • Preferred: 1–3 years experience in accounting and/or insurance
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Must be able to meet the stated physical requirements, including sitting and using a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and computer monitor for 7–8 hours per day
