About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Meet overall sales and quality of business targets for a designated sales territory
  • Review and analyze sales reports and other data to monitor progress toward goals
  • Estimate sales volume and help prepare sales forecasts for the assigned territory
  • Plan and implement actions to address shortfalls or improve sales
  • Pursue new business, including developing and following up on new contacts and leads
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships with worksite representatives
  • Inform members about available products and services, pricing, and new insurance products or promotions
  • Calculate and present quotes and complete insurance applications using paper, electronic, or carrier-supplied software
  • Assist with marketing plan development and execute plan elements within the sales territory
  • Coordinate marketing activities, including collateral distribution, advertising, direct mail, client events, and tradeshows
  • Prepare and present sales presentations and attend client meetings as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • NYS Life, Accident and Health license – either current license or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Valid driver license
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the insurance industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient PC skills, including spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Must live in the assigned sales territory of Rochester, NY
