About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform policy service activities primarily by phone and electronically within established time and service standards
  • Handle policy status requests, certificates of insurance, renewal follow-up requests, and related tasks
  • Assist underwriters with agency support activities and complete transactions in a first time-final mode
  • Accept, modify, or decline lower-complexity business according to policies, practices, and standards
  • Classify risks accurately and make pricing, product, endorsement, market, and qualifying-risk decisions
  • Research information from multiple sources to support underwriting analysis
  • Review individual risks for acceptability based on carriers' underwriting guidelines, state regulations, and surplus lines requirements
  • Consult with agents and internal/external partners regarding customer service activities
  • Recommend opportunities for internal process design and operation
  • Plan assignments to meet agreed timelines and service level agreements
  • Provide service to agencies and establish rapport with customers
  • Route calls and higher-level issues to appropriate individuals
  • Maintain relationships through quality customer service
  • Achieve team goals by developing a profitable book of business and growing policies in force and premium

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • P&C License and Surplus Lines License or L&H License in all states (if required by product line) required within 45 days
  • Undergraduate studies in business administration or related field of study; degree (preferred)
  • One year of related insurance experience (preferred)
  • Will consider undergraduate degree in lieu of experience
