About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop responsive, high-quality web interfaces for Property & Casualty innovation products using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS
- Turn concepts and Figma designs into clickable, coded prototypes for pilots, user testing, and executive demos
- Build and maintain a reusable component library or design system
- Implement quoting, endorsements, renewals, certificates of insurance, billing, and claims journeys
- Build experiences for policyholders, commercial clients, producers/agents, account managers, and claims teams
- Implement conversational, assistive, and document-intake interfaces
- Deliver to WCAG 2.2 AA and optimize load times across browsers and devices
- Connect front ends to APIs and back-end services, collaborating on data, security, and state management
- Participate in research and usability sessions, suggest UX improvements, and iterate based on analytics and user feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years building user interfaces as a UX developer, UI engineer, or front-end developer
- 2+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance (carrier, broker, MGA, or insurtech)
- Working knowledge of personal and/or commercial lines workflows
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React or a similar modern framework
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems
- Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and accessibility (WCAG)
- Comfortable working from Figma and collaborating directly with designers and product managers
- Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, Git, and CI/CD workflows
- A portfolio or code samples showing shipped, user-facing work
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, HCI, design, or a related field, or equivalent experience
