About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary leader at the location level for member and employee experiences, fleet condition, and performance expectations
  • Run daily logistics of area locations and perform dock staff duties
  • Hire, train, and supervise dock-level personnel
  • Ensure certifications, training, best practices, SOPs, policies, and procedures are followed
  • Develop monthly dock staff schedules, review and approve payroll, and maintain a regular dock-day cadence
  • Travel to district locations to support employees, monitor efficiencies, and maintain fleet standards
  • Manage employee performance, accountability, engagement, and annual evaluations
  • Maintain inventory and supply levels
  • Correspond with members regarding complaints, fuel disputes, vessel damages, and dock charges
  • Investigate member misconduct and complete incident reports
  • Drive member satisfaction and retention; review Qualtrics feedback and take action
  • Maintain fleet readiness and brand standards using Fleetio
  • Ensure Fleetio completion of inspections, incidents, work orders, inventory, and parts or supply orders
  • Create and execute weekly vessel cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • Submit work orders to the Maintenance Operations Center
  • Maintain location KPIs, including reservation reports, usage reports, and timesheets
  • Manage operating budgets and control costs
  • Maintain fuel logs and ensure vessels are fueled regularly
  • Build positive relationships with local marina managers and harbor masters
  • Learn local waterways and boating destinations and follow safety policies
  • Provide process-improvement input to the manager
  • Enforce appearance and uniform guidelines
  • Own safety performance and operate within safety SOPs
  • Lead dock staff all-hands meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Vocational degree
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
  • Strong verbal and written communication and people skills
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
  • Managerial and diplomacy skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of related operations experience preferred
  • Boating safety ID card preferred
  • Vessel livery operator’s certification preferred
  • Experience in and around boats desirable
  • Ability to perform minor boat maintenance
  • Prior management experience
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods standing/walking
  • Prolonged periods driving to dock locations
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at time
  • Must be able to board and un-board boats
  • Must be able to pull, lift, carry, squat, twist, kneel, and reach
  • Vision adequate to read / manipulate handheld devices
