About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own how Buenro looks and feels across every product touchpoint for event guests and curators
- Personally design high-impact product moments, including transitions, animations, micro-interactions and visual hierarchy
- Lead the end-to-end Buenro journey from functional product to premium experience
- Design intuitive curator tools for creating events and showcasing each curator's brand
- Design the ticket-purchase and accommodation-booking journey for guests
- Design the event experience, including schedules, updates, messages and logistics
- Design post-event social engagement, profiles, connections and retention experiences
- Translate Buenro's brand into the product across the app, event experience, invites and messages
- Build and own the design system
- Design conversational, AI-led concierge experiences
- Lead and mentor product designers on craft
- Provide final sign-off on design quality before engineering
- Maintain brand, quality, consistency and intentionality across designs
- Report to the CXO and lead the product design team
- Collaborate as a peer with the Product Lead and closely with the Brand & Marketing Lead
- Audit the app, event pages, onboarding, booking flows and curator touchpoints during the first 90 days
- Define product design principles, refine the design system and ship redesigned high-impact flows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Portfolio demonstrating beautiful consumer product design; portfolio is the most important filter
- Experience designing beautiful consumer products where the digital experience supports real-life experiences, ideally at companies such as Airbnb, Bumble, Hinge, Partiful, Dice, Raya or similar
- Exceptional hands-on proficiency in Figma
- Strong command of motion, visual design and interaction details
- Experience setting or elevating a design system at a startup or scale-up
- Ability to maintain a quality bar while working in a fast-moving startup
- Experience leading and mentoring designers
- Comfort working with opinionated founders and product leads
- Understanding of a discerning, global audience interested in travel, experiences, tight-knit communities and premium design
- Nice to have: experience with premium, membership-driven or community products
- Nice to have: experience designing AI or conversational experiences
- Nice to have: familiarity with travel, hospitality or events
- Nice to have: experience shipping on both iOS and Android with platform-specific conventions
