About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Run day-to-day finance, including payroll, invoicing, billing, payables and multi-currency reconciliation
Work with the external accounting office to maintain accurate, documented books
Ensure curators and accommodation partners are paid correctly and on time
Own tracking, reconciliation and controls for curator advances
Research options, build models and propose changes to platform money flows
Build payment and payout solutions with engineering
Manage revenue recognition, intermediary accounting treatment, annual audit and year-end close
Maintain compliance with VAT, payments regulation and financial data protection
Own monthly close, cash position, burn reporting, budget and financial model
Support revenue forecasting, fundraising models and working-capital facilities
Model hiring costs and align headcount plans with budget and runway
Work on compensation structure, salary benchmarks and ESOP administration
Build P&L by event and curator and improve margins
Optimise cash timing, treasury, currency risk and client-fund handling
Act as deal desk for curator partnerships and run monthly business reviews
Redesign the finance stack and automate workflows and dashboards
Shape the financial side of fintech features such as split payments, payouts and new payment methods
Lead entity setup and management beyond Estonia, starting with Brazil
Optimise tax and VAT across countries and manage intercompany money flows
Own chargebacks, fraud checks and deposit handling
Use AI and automation to scale the finance function
Hire the first finance operations team member as volume grows
In the first 90 days, take over from the interim finance partner, map processes and money flows, deliver reliable monthly reporting, and take ownership of audit and year-end preparation

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years in finance
At least 3 years leading finance hands-on at a fast-growing startup
Finance operations and accounting experience
Commercial finance judgment to model cash flow, advances and working capital
Understanding of marketplace payments, multi-currency flows and VAT across borders
Experience working closely with product and engineering on payment or fintech features
Experience setting up or managing entities in multiple countries
Experience running audits, closes and payroll hands-on
Comfortable with modern finance tools and AI
Ability to automate repetitive work
Meticulous, trustworthy and discreet; flags problems early
Proactive and assertive
Experience with EU company structures, ideally Estonian (nice to have)
Experience with Stripe, Xero and Deel (nice to have)
Experience with revenue-share, ticketing or hospitality businesses (nice to have)
