About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct, participant-facing case management for students in the College's earn-and-learn apprenticeship programs
- Conduct regular apprentice check-ins and document contact in the system of record at the time of contact
- Identify and help resolve barriers to program completion by facilitating referrals to College resources such as Single Stop, Tutoring, and Financial Aid
- Coordinate apprentices through the Start Now and registration process and flag scheduling conflicts
- Assist with onboarding paperwork and flag incomplete FERPA releases
- Use BHCC terminology and tools including Fresh Start, S.A.P., and Early Intervention tools to direct students appropriately
- Add Registrar-issued cohort codes to student TargetX files
- Communicate with employers for reporting and check-in purposes when directed by the Assistant Director
- Collect and relay employer-reported OJT hours or progress updates and flag discrepancies
- Provide case-level input for employer partner meetings and status reports
- Attend outreach, orientation, onboarding, and recruitment events; deliver introductory or orientation sessions
- Screen applicants against posted program criteria and submit advisory written recommendations
- Maintain accurate case records in College and/or Employer shared documents according to FERPA and operating procedures
- Submit weekly caseload activity reports to the Assistant Director
- Support other department initiatives and organize on-campus career events
- Contribute to department marketing and communication, including web and social media content
- Review resumes and conduct or coordinate mock interviews for student job seekers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Master's preferred in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related field
- Experience with case management, student support, or career/workforce navigation
- Ability to learn and use the College's student information and case-tracking systems, currently TargetX, Colleague, Self Service, and Canvas
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate case records
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse apprentice population and a range of internal college offices
- Final candidate must undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations
