About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Teach, train, coach, and motivate 5–10 field-based Territory Sales Representatives within Bunzl's Redistribution/R3 segment
- Provide sales and business development training and customer-focused account support
- Create plans for the team's effective operation and help team members surpass sales goals and achieve career growth
- Oversee sales strategies, establish sales objectives, and monitor sales results
- Provide direct leadership and coaching for Sales Representatives across the assigned geography
- Pursue prospective customers and expand sales in existing accounts through new products and services
- Lead regular team meetings focused on growing sales revenue and margin
- Communicate customer feedback to leadership regarding products and future opportunities
- Deliver sales pipelines, forecasts, and pricing
- Propose, communicate, and achieve weekly and monthly forecasts
- Devise and train on sales strategies and techniques to achieve sales targets
- Support the transition to a segmented organizational structure through culture, practices, structure, and organizational environment
- Leverage MS Dynamics CRM data to evaluate team performance, monitor trends, and identify opportunities
- Meet and exceed sales goals and implement leadership directives
- Ensure representatives complete prospecting, account development, site inspections, and account management to company standards
- Recruit, select, develop, manage, coach, motivate, and hold sales employees accountable
- Facilitate leadership development and foster future leaders for succession plans
- Maintain and grow relationships with current and prospective customer contacts
- Drive alignment, define performance measurement, and develop long-term plans with Sales Representatives
- Execute business plans with new and existing accounts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Strong field based outside sales, territory account management & business development experience required
- Experience successfully managing and executing challenging sales cycles
- Experience with yearly planning for a business and delivering on revenue, margin, and cost targets consistently
- Previous people leadership experience or demonstrated peer leadership skills
- Grocery, foodservice, and distribution experience preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously and influence others to achieve targets
- Project management and negotiation skills
- Proficient user level Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn new software applications
- CRM experience; Microsoft Dynamics knowledge preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region
- Expectation to be in person with each Sales Representative 2–3 days a week
