About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the technical authority within the Salesforce/application or technology domain
Provide application- or technology-specific guidance to business analysts, architects and designers
Impact-assess and validate technical solutions, designs and proofs of concept
Act as sign-off authority for application solution designs
Develop and apply application delivery design standards, development methodologies and strategic architecture frameworks
Contribute to and influence strategic software architecture decisions
Provide overall solution-design input to Infrastructure Design teams
Own resolution of IT-related problems within the domain affecting operational services or development
Build and maintain relationships with IT teams and act as an IT ambassador within the business
Engage with technology groups outside the immediate team to influence solution decisions and outcomes
Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians across IT
Manage third-party supplier resources in a matrix environment, such as tech leads and scrum masters
Ensure the quality of all software-related deliverables
Participate in technical analysis, specification, estimation, design, development, implementation and support of Salesforce software solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3 years of understanding and experience of the Salesforce Platform and Salesforce solution patterns
Deep understanding of out-of-the-box features and solution components
Degree/Masters in Computer Science or equivalent education/work experience
5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language, including Java and JavaScript
2+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design, including architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling
8+ years of professional software development experience/building production software systems
Experience building a product from concept to prototype and implementation
Experience with Agile methods
Knowledge of coding standards and source control techniques
Strong communication skills
Flexible attitude and ability to perform under pressure
Excellent test script and documentation skills
Experience in more than one service delivery function: development, support, software design or environment configuration
Knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies or expertise in a single technology
Ability to translate business goals into technology solutions
Good team player
Experience working in a matrix-managed environment with mixed teams, including contractors and outsourced vendors
