About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide operational support to the merchandising organization
  • Collaborate with merchants to streamline processes and support order management
  • Resolve day-to-day operational and order challenges
  • Ensure execution aligns with business objectives
  • Act as a central liaison across cross-functional teams
  • Partner with Distribution Centers, Supply Chain, vendors, buyers, planners, and merchandising operations teams
  • Generate ideas, insights, and solutions to streamline merchant processes
  • Build business knowledge and serve as subject matter expert for assigned merchant categories
  • Identify, quantify, and track business benefits of proposed solutions
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and recommend execution actions
  • Influence order-writing decisions and minimize distribution center processing time and handling costs
  • Develop strong relationships with merchant partners and cross-functional teams
  • Resolve challenges and drive consensus through change management
  • Develop SOPs and deliver order-writing best practices
  • Develop training curricula and materials for onboarding, refreshers, and new process launches
  • Deliver training and serve as the first point of contact for merchandising operations questions
  • Facilitate communication to develop efficient order-management solutions
  • Serve as primary contact for merchant operational and order-writing questions
  • Drive product flow initiatives to maximize profit by reducing processing cost and time
  • Support onboarding and development of Assistant Buyers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in merchandising required
  • Off-price retail experience preferred
  • Experience with merchandise systems preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organization skills and detail-orientation
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time
  • Ability to manage through conflict and problem resolution
  • Strong computer skills with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to identify and apply systems solutions to business problems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Periodic travel including market, vendors, corporate offices, and distribution center locations
