About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide daily and monthly financial and operational analytical support for accounting operations related to the Inventory Control Department
  • Liaise with operational and corporate departments
  • Support monthly close, forecasting, reporting, business objectives, strategic goals, and initiatives
  • Maintain stock ledger and inventory data accuracy and related controls
  • Perform merchandise inventory valuation, gross margin, and cost analysis
  • Assist Loss Prevention and Store Operations with physical inventories across distribution centers and stores
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for periodic reviews and SOX compliance
  • Support corporate, store, and distribution center inventory flows and initiatives
  • Prepare client assistance deliverables for quarterly and annual financial statement audits and special projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business units and corporate stakeholders
  • Identify process efficiencies and improvements
  • Create value-added KPI and monthly reporting metrics
  • Perform inventory valuation, margin analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and recording of inventory transfers and receipts
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of inventory transactions for stores, distribution centers, and fulfillment operations
  • Assist with physical inventory reconciliations, analysis, execution, timing, and reporting
  • Provide shrink reporting
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies and develop/document new stock ledger maintenance and control procedures
  • Partner with Corporate Finance to align policies with internal accounting practices and GAAP
  • Work with auditors to satisfy audit review requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year accounting/finance degree required
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus
  • 2-4 years related work experience
  • Inventory/accounting background with concentration in data analytics and reporting
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Understanding of inventory flow and inventory accounting policies
  • Financial analysis, trend recognition, and communicating results
  • Experience working with multiple levels of management and in cross-functional environments
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Power BI skills
