About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform monthly close, workpapers and analysis for financial accounting
- Prepare journal entries and accrual calculations
- Develop schedules and reports for variance analysis
- Investigate variances and analyze drivers
- Identify errors and trends in accounting data to improve accuracy, timeliness and data flow
- Partner with FP&A to determine plan and forecast calculations
- Analyze and review forecast-to-actual results at the consolidated level
- Prepare summarized variance explanations
- Reconcile third-party tax reports with payroll tax summary reports
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting, including W-2 distribution
- Maintain documentation of payroll elections, exemptions and reciprocity rules
- Create and monitor pre- and post-payroll reports for internal and external review
- Format files for consistency and audit daily reports
- Provide findings to management
- Create and maintain supporting databases
- Assist the Senior Accountant with internal and external audit requests
- Assist with routine and ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-2 years of payroll/accounting experience
- Proficient or Advanced in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Proficient in Workday and ADP SmartCompliance
- Knowledge of accounting/payroll processes, procedures and internal controls
- Strong analysis, research and audit skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to manage vendor transactions professionally and efficiently
- Clear and effective communication with internal management and team members
- Ability to work independently
- Problem-solving ability and ability to analyze alternatives
- Power BI experience a plus
- Adaptive financial software experience a plus
