About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define the merchandising technology vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap
Lead the Oracle Retail migration and upgrade to the cloud
Ensure Oracle Retail and custom merchant applications remain stable, scalable, and future-ready
Establish cloud operational and support models, methodologies, and best practices
Monitor retail merchandising technology and AI trends and drive technology-enabled business innovation
Partner with senior and executive leadership, solution providers, consultants, vendors, infrastructure, and security teams
Deliver strategic projects across Merchandising, Planning, Pricing, and Allocations
Collaborate with AI and Innovation teams to advance AI adoption within merchandising
Develop, mentor, and guide Software Engineering teams responsible for Oracle Retail, custom applications, EDI, and Data Integration
Manage external vendors, service providers, multi-million-dollar capital and expense budgets, support agreements, and strategic partnerships
Establish Burlington as a retail technology innovator and oversee performance metrics and talent development

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline
15+ years of IT experience delivering large-scale retail merchandising systems
10+ years of experience in a leadership capacity
Prior experience implementing Oracle Retail SaaS solutions strongly preferred
Retail environment experience preferred
Deep expertise in merchandising systems and the Oracle Retail platform, including Merchandising Core, Pricing, Markdown, Merchandise Financial Planning, Allocations, Invoice Matching, and Demand Forecasting
Experience with modern application architecture, cloud, EDI/integration, data integration, and software delivery methodologies
Demonstrated ability to deliver results on time and on budget
Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to sit 8 hours a day / 40 hours a week
