About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive operational excellence across Burq's delivery network from pickup to drop-off
  • Set Burq's supply strategy and long-term network vision, including expansion, provider prioritization, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply team
  • Own key delivery service provider relationships and commercial terms
  • Hold providers accountable for on-time performance, coverage, and quality; manage reviews and escalations
  • Identify geographic, capacity, and capability gaps in supply coverage and lead efforts to close them
  • Represent supply strategy and performance to executive leadership
  • Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support to align supply with customer needs and the product roadmap
  • Own the supply budget and prioritize across providers, markets, and initiatives
  • Own and report key supply metrics, including cost per delivery, on-time performance, coverage, and provider mix
  • Use AI tools daily to analyze provider performance data, monitor supply health, and automate reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from pickup to drop-off, and ability to identify and resolve friction through operational, process, or technical improvements at the provider level
  • 8–12+ years in supply chain, logistics operations, or partner/vendor management, ideally including direct experience managing delivery provider or carrier relationships
  • Experience building, leading, and developing a team, with a track record of scaling a function as a business grows
  • Experience partnering with and presenting to executive leadership, owning a budget, and making tradeoff calls
  • Proven experience negotiating commercial terms and managing performance with external partners or vendors
  • Ability to develop and articulate a long-term vision for a supply network
  • Ability to hold partners accountable and drive performance gaps to resolution
  • Ability to align Customer Success, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support around a shared supply strategy
  • Ability to analyze provider and network performance data
  • Comfort working with APIs and technical integrations and speaking credibly with technical stakeholders
  • Growth mindset; able to solve ambiguity and problems independently
  • Active and fluent daily use of AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity, change, and building processes from scratch in a startup environment
  • Nice to have: experience in last-mile delivery, courier, gig-economy operations, freight, dispatch, routing, supply chain software platforms, early-stage supply/provider network scaling, or people leadership at a high-growth startup
