About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the domestic vendor supply plan, including communication, execution, quoting and contract proposals, service level management, and reporting
  • Promote innovation within the category through packaging, varietals, and supply chain efficiency
  • Make transactional, promotional, and contract pricing decisions in coordination with category leadership
  • Manage domestic vendor relationships through vendor review processes to continuously improve performance against category plans
  • Actively manage a pipeline of new domestic vendors to meet customer demand in coordination with commercial teams
  • Educate internal teams about the category’s transactional market and proactively manage supply fluctuations
  • Develop strong supply plans with category leaders to meet customer requirements and enable growth and profitability
  • Perform other duties according to team and/or country-specific requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in fresh produce sourcing or sales across US geographies
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestically and internationally)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of post-harvest and cold chain principles and technologies (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (preferred)
  • Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in negotiation, pricing strategy, and building programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strategic and innovative mindset, able to develop and drive sourcing initiatives from conception to implementation
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, sometimes out of normal business hours
  • Attention to detail with high standards for work; a customer service mindset
