About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the domestic vendor supply plan, including communication, execution, quoting, contract proposals, service level management, and reporting
  • Promote innovation within the category through packaging, varietals, and supply chain efficiency
  • Make transactional, promotional, and contract pricing decisions in coordination with category leadership
  • Manage domestic vendor relationships through vendor review processes
  • Manage a pipeline of new domestic vendors to meet customer demand
  • Educate internal teams about the category’s transactional market
  • Proactively manage supply fluctuations to avoid gaps and maximize volume sales opportunities
  • Develop supply plans with category leaders to meet customer requirements and enable category growth and profitability
  • Perform other duties as assigned according to team and/or country-specific requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in fresh produce sourcing or sales across US geographies
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of post-harvest and cold chain principles and technologies
  • Preferred: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Preferred: Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Preferred: Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Preferred: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience in negotiation, pricing strategy, and building programs
  • Preferred: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Preferred: Strategic and innovative mindset, able to develop and drive sourcing initiatives from conception to implementation
