About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the regional commercial strategy and execution plan for the Americas
  • Drive revenue, margin delivery, profitable growth, commercial strategy, and organizational effectiveness
  • Lead sales, strategic account management, channel strategy, pricing, contract negotiations, market development, and portfolio optimization
  • Execute plans for Specialty Carbons, Specialty Compounds, and Fumed Silica product lines in the North and South America region
  • Build and develop a high-performing regional commercial organization
  • Lead relationships with strategic and key accounts, including account planning, value creation, customer retention, and profitable growth
  • Develop and optimize regional channel and distributor strategies
  • Lead complex commercial and contract negotiations
  • Assess and evolve the regional commercial organization, including structure, capabilities, succession, resource allocation, and matrix alignment
  • Manage products, applications, customers, and market segments with differing growth, profitability, and competitive dynamics
  • Review profitability and working-capital metrics and coordinate with Finance on accurate reporting
  • Define regional pricing targets and approve pricing exceptions within global bands
  • Ensure compliance with business rules and payment terms and manage regional accounts-receivable targets
  • Manage regional costs related to demand fulfillment with Shared Services
  • Customize quality metrics and drive initiatives addressing regional product and service issues
  • Directly manage Sales, Technical Services, and Market Analysis employees
  • Coach and develop direct and matrix associates and ensure alignment with the matrix organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Business/Marketing or Science
  • 8-10 years or more of related marketing management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business theories and practices
  • Full knowledge of the chemical industry, Cabot’s products, market segments and competition
  • Knowledge of business profitability drivers
  • Knowledge of markets and product applications
  • Knowledge of global business trends and events
  • Ability to identify opportunities to provide customer solutions
  • Ability to work closely with people from different functions and influence, engage with others, address issues, and resolve conflicts
  • Determination, know-how, and accountability for achieving results
  • Ability to plan, organize, and monitor progress
  • Communication, presentation, and engagement skills
  • Employee management and team leadership skills
  • Must complete and pass a background check
