About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and edit training materials, technical reports, policies, procedures, and customer deliverables for accuracy, grammar, style, and quality
- Act as the final review gate before customer delivery
- Develop templates, style guides, and writing standards to improve document consistency
- Provide quality assurance oversight of courseware and technical publications
- Prepare lessons learned summaries and writing best practice guidance
- Coach and mentor team members on technical writing, English language usage, and documentation standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
- Training or qualifications in the development of computer-based training
- Minimum 5 years' experience in training development
- Experience in training development within a military aviation or naval platform environment
- Demonstrated understanding of ADF training policies and procedures (SADL)
- Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50122)
- Experience working with Learning Content Management Systems and authoring tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to review technical documents and identify grammatical, structural and content errors
- Ability to manage editing and delivery schedules across multiple competing priorities
- Ability to train and coach others in the correct use of the English language
- Ability to develop documentation and writing capability across a broader team
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Australian Defence Security Clearance
- Ability to work at our Homebush, NSW site in a hybrid or onsite capacity
- Preferred: Experience establishing editorial governance frameworks and style guides
- Preferred: Experience acting as a quality assurance lead on Defence training projects
- Preferred: Advanced technical editing or professional writing qualifications
- Preferred: Experience supporting large-scale Defence training transformation programs
