About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build productive business relationships with senior leaders and identify business opportunities
  • Develop and refine analytical requests and drive opportunities through analytics and creative solutions
  • Help junior analysts prioritize analyses based on business and profit impact
  • Conduct and oversee rigorous analytics to improve profitability, operational processes, and customer service
  • Identify and evaluate revenue growth opportunities, resource optimization, investment mix, competitive market dynamics, customer behavior, and pricing optimization
  • Ensure junior analysts' analyses are rigorous and accurate
  • Distill large datasets into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop presentation materials for senior management
  • Communicate analysis findings clearly and compellingly to senior management in verbal and written formats
  • Drive discussions with senior clients and support strategic project development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Design and deliver reporting on trends and business performance drivers
  • Use SQL, R, Tableau, Google BigQuery, and Python to develop analytics and reporting tools
  • Lead integration of new technologies and tools into department processes
  • Identify and execute process and reporting efficiency improvements
  • Lead or contribute to large-scale cross-Analytics team projects
  • Train, onboard, and develop junior analysts in technical skills, tools, processes, critical thinking, analytical techniques, and business acumen

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college
  • 3+ years of professional work (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated business acumen for the Casino industry
  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Ideally, proficiency in R, VBA, SAS, or Python
  • Experience working with Google BigQuery
  • Experience leading projects using Tableau or PowerBI
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses, conclusions, and recommendations to business partners
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and consensus-building skills
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize junior analysts' work, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including project management, time management, coaching, and innovation
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity
  • Preferred: 5+ years of professional work (or equivalent experience)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Hotel Management, Business, or Data Science
  • Preferred: Graduate Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Hotel Management, or an equivalent technical field
  • Preferred: Experience applying statistical analysis and test/control to the casino business
  • Preferred: Hyperion experience
  • Preferred: Prior gaming/hospitality industry and analytics experience
