About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop a team of 2 Product Designers
- Set goals, provide feedback, coach team members, and support career growth
- Build a culture of rigor, ownership, and continuous improvement
- Represent design's voice and impact across the organization
- Define, plan, and execute the design discovery process
- Craft problem statements, develop hypotheses, and create rapid prototypes for user testing
- Bridge discovery and delivery through the shaping phase
- Ensure designs are platform-agnostic, brand-compliant, and technically feasible
- Own the hand-off to engineering
- Incorporate user needs and business objectives into product designs
- Deliver and review high-fidelity designs, complex user flows, and interactive prototypes
- Contribute to and evolve the global Design System across iOS, Android, and Web
- Partner with the Analyst and User Researcher to integrate insights
- Improve design-team rituals, tools, and processes
- Introduce and champion AI tools for research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and QA
- Report directly to the Director of Product
- Shape Cafeyn's user experience across platforms for Cafeyn and Readly platforms serving 2M+ users across 15 geographies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in Product Design
- Experience in high-growth B2C environments serving millions of users across mobile apps
- At least one experience managing or leading a Product Design team
- Direct people-management experience, including setting goals, giving feedback, and helping designers grow
- Mastery of the double-diamond design process
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, facilitate brainstorming, and turn insights into prototypes
- Advanced Figma skills for scalable components and high-fidelity prototypes
- Understanding of mobile development constraints and production-ready design systems
- Comfort with AI tools for design and integrating them into workflows
- Ability to communicate complex features through compelling narratives
- Comfort discussing conversion funnels, A/B test results, and technical debt trade-offs
- Autonomy in identifying user-journey friction points and proposing solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in French and English
- Ability to present complex design rationales to international stakeholders in both languages
