About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and lead the company-wide research roadmap aligned with product, sales, and marketing goals
  • Serve as the central research point of contact for internal stakeholders
  • Scope research needs and translate them into high-impact studies
  • Turn data into compelling, actionable insights for internal teams and external audiences
  • Represent the research team in cross-functional planning and strategic decisions
  • Oversee design, planning, and execution of research projects assessing product efficacy and informing product design
  • Manage multiple complex research projects from conception to completion
  • Ensure methodological rigor, privacy-law compliance, and alignment with internal priorities
  • Develop efficient research processes, timelines, and reporting systems
  • Oversee technical outputs and support study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Lead, manage, and grow a team of researchers
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development support
  • Guide resource allocation and task delegation
  • Collaborate with Marketing to translate research findings into blog posts, infographics, talking points, and whitepapers
  • Represent ExploreK12’s research at conferences, webinars, and industry events
  • Identify opportunities to integrate research into product, sales, and customer success strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record of designing and leading impactful education research studies in the U.S. K-12 EdTech industry
  • 5+ years of experience in education research, data science, or analytics, preferably in applied or industry settings
  • Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodology, including study design, recruitment, data collection, and data interpretation
  • Excellent analytic skills, including expertise in statistical analysis
  • Experience using SPSS, SAS, Python, or R
  • Demonstrated success turning research into actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exemplary project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional collaborative mindset and interpersonal skills across product, marketing, and sales functions
  • Excellent communication and writing skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with experimental design or program evaluation in education, learning sciences, or EdTech preferred
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams preferred
  • Experience working with external research partners or firms preferred
  • Experience with learning analytics, educational data mining, and/or evidence-centered design preferred
  • Track record of building scalable systems for research insights preferred
  • Master’s degree in education, learning sciences, social science, or a closely related field; PhD degree preferred
  • Must live and work within the United States
