About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Determine customer needs and recommend optimal platforms
- Implement multi-vendor solutions for existing and new clients
- Design optimized HPC, AI, and ML solutions across multiple disciplines
- Design multi-rack-scale x86 and ARM compute clusters, storage, containerized environments, high-throughput interconnects, GPU clusters, and disaggregated composable infrastructure
- Address use cases including life sciences, engineering, natural sciences, deep learning, IoT, and commercial analytics
- Prescribe and validate solutions averaging $1M to $20M annually per client
- Consult on enterprise IT, including storage, data protection, virtualization, compute, networking, firewalls, VPNs, SSE, and information security
- Leverage relationships with technology manufacturers and industry leaders
- Maintain advanced expertise and earn assigned certifications
- Represent the company in client meetings, technical demonstrations, and conferences
- Validate quotes, proposals, and statements of work
- Leverage Professional Services to differentiate and add value to solutions
- Build long-term relationships with vendors, clients, and IT distributors
- Collaborate respectfully with the cross-functional Cambridge team
- Lead and manage a growing team of professionals from diverse IT and scientific backgrounds
- Use Cambridge’s CRM, document management system, and company calendar
- Report to the CEO
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicants must provide a resume and cover letter in PDF format
- At least 10+ years of customer-facing technical experience recommending high-value workload solutions, research and development, life science compute, and data-center-centric IT infrastructure solutions to IT professionals for a vendor or technology reseller
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters
- Experience with high-throughput network solutions, including Infiniband, OmniPath, and 400GbE
- Experience with schedulers including UGE, SGE, SLURM, PGS, and LSF
- Experience with cluster management tools including Bright Computing, Werewolf, and xCAT
- Experience with parallel file systems including Lustre and IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS)
- Experience with enterprise data storage technologies including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, CIFS, and NFS
- Windows Server and UNIX/Linux system administration experience
- Expertise developing accounts, writing technical proposals, delivering presentations, and mentoring employees/customers
- Expert-level knowledge of advanced computer hardware, software, and services
- Existing relationships with technology vendors and distributors within the IT ecosystem
- A university undergraduate degree is required
- STEM and/or advanced degree preferred
- Ability to work remotely, independently, and unsupervised
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Impeccable communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask and keen attention to detail
