About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a team of 7–10 Admissions Counselors
  • Coach and support counselors to achieve individual and enrollment goals
  • Encourage teamwork and foster a collaborative, positive admissions culture
  • Assist with day-to-day admissions operations
  • Oversee counselor pipelines and accurate record-keeping
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, address challenges, and ensure enrollment targets are met
  • Monitor counselor performance and student support effectiveness
  • Engage with counselors regarding daily, weekly, and cohort goals
  • Master admissions programs, processes, and operational aspects
  • Report on lead quality, volume, and team trends to management
  • Recommend operational improvement strategies
  • Communicate new information, processes, and updates to the team
  • Hold counselors accountable for adherence to processes
  • Score 2–3 intro calls weekly per Admissions Counselor and provide constructive feedback
  • Identify skill gaps during coaching calls
  • Develop methods to motivate the team
  • Professionally develop counselors through weekly one-to-one sessions
  • Work with the trainer to develop leadership training
  • Partner with the Director and Trainer to onboard new counselors
  • Recommend additional training, improvement plans, or disciplinary actions
  • Mentor and coach counselors for skill development and potential promotion
  • Delegate responsibilities fairly and lead by example

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience in admissions recruitment or high-volume student-facing sales environments
  • Prior leadership/management experience with direct-reports
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams toward performance goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate interpersonal dynamics
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to foster teamwork and maintain a positive culture
  • Strong management, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies for team success
  • Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and growth within the team
  • Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling environment is nice to have
  • Experience delivering presentations or representing a department externally is nice to have
  • Background in training, facilitation, or curriculum support is nice to have
  • This role requires in-office attendance three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday)
  • Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring new H-1B sponsorship
