About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Retail Stores Team in a designated region
  • Drive results through sales team management, customer and guest engagement, coaching, and mentoring using business KPIs
  • Manage multiple priorities, supervise Store Managers, and oversee retail projects
  • Execute initiatives to enhance performance and execution
  • Drive top-line sales with a strong focus on profitability
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports
  • Collaborate with Retail District Managers, Store Operations, and Head Office partners to support regional team growth and development
  • Establish and pursue goals aligned with revenue, operations, and customer service targets
  • Achieve operations goals and targets focused on customer satisfaction and store-level performance
  • Communicate and reinforce company goals and mission
  • Prepare monthly and weekly revenue and profit projections
  • Oversee Store Manager scheduling in relation to revenue
  • Review monthly sales objectives and develop strategies to achieve targets
  • Provide direction and support to Store Managers and direct reports
  • Develop collaborative relationships with staff and partners
  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Respond to store-level emergencies and provide resolution or appropriate communication
  • Identify operational and merchandising deficiencies and provide solutions and guidance
  • Lead training initiatives
  • Improve job and store profitability by identifying improvements and implementing initiatives
  • Attend Store and Head Office meetings as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of multi-unit store management experience in the retail industry; cannabis retail industry preferred
  • SellSafe certification is mandatory to work in Alberta
  • Valid First Aid certification considered an asset
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Internet software
  • Ability to speak clearly and confidently in business settings
  • Ability to conduct and preside over meetings
  • Excellent business math skills, including discounts, interest rates, percentages, and basic calculations
  • Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor direct reports’ progress
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and provide and accept employee feedback
  • Prioritization skills to use time effectively and create action plans to achieve business targets
  • Ability to take responsibility for subordinate activities, provide staff support and performance feedback, develop subordinate skills, and encourage growth
  • Regional travel is an essential requirement
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Alberta, as indicated by the mandatory SellSafe certification requirement
