About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Achieve all key financial objectives for Canna Cabana stores in British Columbia
- Attract, coach, retain, motivate, and develop retail talent
- Implement local marketing programs to maximize customer trial, awareness, and repeat visits
- Maintain staffing levels and manage operating budgets within company guidelines
- Prospect and follow up with local businesses, community groups, and associations
- Maintain accurate client databases and POS systems
- Manage hiring, orientation, training, performance appraisal, discipline, and termination in consultation with HR
- Build commitment to high service standards and exceed customer expectations
- Ensure ongoing, creative, and well-presented product promotion
- Submit monthly activity, budget, and business reports
- Maintain equipment and resolve technical problems
- Conduct inspections to ensure clean, upscale, and well-maintained stores
- Monitor inventory, security standards, merchandise flow, cash handling, reconciliations, and daily bank deposits
- Monitor adherence to health and safety legislation and act as Safety Representative
- Complete injury reports and maintain health and safety supplies and equipment
- Ensure accurate inventory control documentation and product ordering practices
- Coach store management on process improvements and HR matters
- Liaise with HR and Payroll, approve manager timesheets in Dayforce, and manage labor hours by location
- Implement success measures and KPIs across all British Columbia stores
- Travel to all Canna Cabana retail locations
- Support new store openings and coordinate acquisitions
- Complete special projects and other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Selling It Right certification from LCRB required
- University degree or College diploma in a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years multiunit experience in the retail industry; cannabis retail industry preferred
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years work experience in a management role in a retail environment, preferably in a unionized retail environment
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Proven excellent customer service skills
- Integrity, creativity, high standards, commitment, ethical values, and achievement orientation
- Clean and clear criminal background check
- Clean drivers abstract and a valid driver’s license
- Fully functional and safe motor vehicle to travel between locations
- Ability to travel across BC and/or Canada
- Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills
- Excellent management writing and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to direct workflow, assess performance, and assign duties
- Understanding of the cannabis industry and area of service
- Ability to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions
- Understanding of financial reports, budgetary guidelines, payroll, and expenditures
- Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products, and email
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, services ordering, and inventory control
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
- Meticulous records maintenance skills
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
