About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist store management in supervising and facilitating daily store operations
- Oversee Store Manager responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Assist with personnel management during shifts and resolve customer service issues
- Provide direction, guidance, and instruction to store associates
- Maintain store conditions according to established standards
- Assist with staffing levels when requested
- Act as sales and customer service leader and role model in the absence of store management
- Greet and assist customers while modeling exemplary conduct
- Ensure company policies and relevant legislation are followed
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary
- Ensure health, safety, and security regulations are followed during shifts
- Achieve sales targets and store-level KPIs
- Ensure employees actively pursue sales goals
- Oversee and assist with inventory management and remain accountable for shift inventory processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid Selling It Right certification required to work in a retail cannabis store
- Clean Criminal Background Check required before start date
- Completion of high school and College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training required
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the retail industry required; cannabis industry preferred
- Valid First Aid certification considered an asset
- Demonstrated sales and service orientation
- Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to train and motivate staff
- Basic office administration skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
- Effective teamwork and team-building skills
- Effective verbal and written communication with individuals at all organizational levels
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Availability for shift work Monday through Sunday according to business needs
- Ability to work nights, holidays, weekends, and different locations
- Thorough understanding of applicable health and safety legislation
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude
- Ability to obtain or hold required certification and comply with applicable cannabis retail regulations
